Laser Dentistry

We have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on technology with one goal in mind, to make you more comfortable. Here are just a few ways in which our technology will lead to a more comfortable dental appointment:

Waterlase Dental Laser/ Kinetic Cavity Preparation:

No shot, no drill dentistry. Is it possible? In many cases it is. By utilizing a combination of the Waterlase Dental Laser and the KCP air abrasion system, we have done thousands of fillings without the need of painful shots and noisy drills. The Waterlase Dental Laser is an incredible new laser that is great for treating the teeth and gums as well as speed the healing of common and painful cold sores. One of the major reasons people avoid the dentist is because of painful shots and the after effects of being numb. We purchased the Waterlase because it allows us to do many procedures without the need for anesthetic.

Diagnodent Laser Cavity Detection System:

The Diagodent is an amazing tool that uses a laser to help us detect tooth decay. Look in your mouth; you will see lots of little brown grooves on the top or sides of your teeth. These dark grooves have stumped dentists since we started. In the past we had to diagnose tooth decay by sticking a sharp instrument into it and seeing if it stuck. The problem with this method was that only detected tooth decay when it was big enough to get the instrument into it. The Diagnodent assigns a numeric value to the groove and if that reaches a certain threshold, we know its time to work on it. However, if it’s below that number we may be able to remineralize it and never have to fill it. Most of the fillings detected early by the Diagnodent can be treated without a shot and without a drill, by using the Waterlase. By finding these cavities early, we have helped hundreds of patients avoid deep fillings, root canals, crowns and even extractions.

Invisalign:

Invisalign straightens your teeth with a series of clear, virtually invisible custom-molded aligners.

By using a series of clear, removable aligners, Invisalign straightens your teeth with results you'll notice sooner than you think. The course of treatment involves changing aligners approximately every two weeks, moving your teeth into straighter position step by step, until you have a more beautiful smile. And unlike braces, these clear aligners can be removed while you eat and brush your teeth as usual.

Technology:

We have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on technology with one goal in mind, to make you more comfortable. Here are just a few ways in which our technology will lead to a more comfortable dental appointment:

CEREC one appointment crowns:

We have recently purchased a CAD/CAM “robot” that will mill a crown that contains no metal out of a solid block of porcelain! Gone are the days of uncomfortable temporaries that fall out or impressions that gag. You no longer have to come for two appointments, wait two weeks, and get two shots! Your tooth can be prepared and the crown delivered in about one hour. Since these crowns are made of solid porcelain, they also lack the ugly dark metal lines you may see at the gum line. We know that your time is very valuable, so we were very excited when we found that all of this can be performed with only a single one-hour appointment.

LCD Cable TV in the dental chair:

No one likes sitting in the dental chair. Although running on time is one of our highest priorities, most dental appointments run about an hour and include times when we have to wait for different procedures. Our patients love the fact that they can watch their favorite shows and forget where they are! We realize that some patients are uneasy at the dentist, so TV is just one of the many ways we try to make our patients feel more comfortable.

Sterilox Waterline Sterilization System:

We presently exceed all OSHA regulations for sterilization. All of our instruments are bagged and autoclaved with an indicator that changes color when it’s ready. We have recently purchased the Sterilox System from Ultradent. Dental waterlines can back up and may cause cross contamination. Overspray from dental procedures can send bacteria and tooth particles in the air. By using this system, a special formulation is placed in all the water that we use. This kills all forms of bacteria and viruses. There is nothing more important to us than your safety and comfort.
